Chevalier Chaplain Fred Glazier GSt.S at the investiture of the first

of Prime Minister Pustovoytenko ... who was also invested.
L to R: Past President Kravchuk, G.M. Sokolnicki Grand Prior of Ukraine
Pavlo V'Yalov GCCSt.S., and Ltc. Chev. Chap. Fred Glazier GCSt.S.
The Grand Master of the
Order of Saint Stanislas, Count Juliusz Nowina-Sokolnicki, Countess
Avril Nowina-Sokolnicki GCStS, Chevalier Colonel Frederick Glazier
GCStS, Chevalier Baron Richard V. Rowlands GCStS, Chevalier Edward
Rach GCStS, Chevalier Dr Stanislas and Dame Barbara Burzynski and
Chevalier Colonel Colin Nowina-Sawicki attended the first investiture
ceremony of the order to be held in the Republic of the Ukraine.
The Grand Prior of the
Ukraine, Chevalier Pavlo V'Yalov, had personally arranged for the
first President of the Ukraine, H.E. Leonid Makarovych Kravchuk
and the current Prime Minister H.E. Valery Pavlovych Pustovoytenko
to be invested into the Order of Saint Stanislas at the official
residence of the Prime Minister.
Considering the history
of Poland, Lithuania and the Ukraine (Kiev and Ruthenia) and their
historic association with the Order this was indeed a most moving
ceremony, which was well attended by the media and many Members
of the Ukrainian Parliament.
Upon completion of the
investiture ceremony the Order of Saint Stanislas was registered
in the Ukraine as the highest Order of chivalry after State Decorations.
This gives the Order of Saint Stanislas a unique status internationally,
something not unlike the Venerable Order of Saint John upon its'
re-establishment in the United Kingdom in 1860, where an order of
chivalry which had a historic association with that nation was re-established
for charitable purposes.
The Order of Saint Stanislas
has a regional association as well with the 'Chernobyl Kids' project
which is focused on the second generation victims of the Chernobyl
tragedy.
